The Ability To See is One of Life's Most Precious Gifts

Most of us can’t imagine what it would be like living our lives blind.  But that is the reality for millions of people. Cataracts is the leading cause of blindness worldwide, accounting for nearly 22 million cases. And yet, it’s completely treatable. At Logan Eye Institute we believe that the ability to see is one of life’s most precious gifts and we want to do our part.

In 2011, Dr. Bryan Monson founded the organization Insight Humanitarian. This program provides a stable platform to engage ophthalmology surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists and organizational volunteers with corporations and private philanthropy to provide free sight-restoring vision to the blind in developing nations. Insight Humanitarian works with proven established initiatives, on-site community-based health organizations and local physicians for long-term sustainability.

Insight Humanitarian has had the privilege to help in many countries including Napal, El Salvador, Mexico, and parts of Africa.

How You Can Help

"The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision" - Helen Keller

Donate an old pair of glasses and help change a life. By dropping off a pair of glasses you don’t need anymore, you could help a child read or an adult succeed in his or her job. You could help a senior maintain their independence and provide a community with more opportunities to grow and thrive. You can help change the world, one pair at a time.

At Logan Eye Institute we partner with the Lion’s Club Recycle for Sight Program that allows us to collect unused eyeglasses throughout the year. Those glasses then, are cleaned, sorted, and packaged so they can be distributed to people in low and middle income communities.

You can drop your usable eye wear off at our office during regular business hours. Together we can work together to continue giving the gift of sight.
